CCB Travelling Art Journal

Have you ever seen the movie called ‘The Sisterhood of Travelling Pants’? It’s an easy watching flick about a group of best friends who, after spending most of their lives together, are preparing to spend their first separate summer vacations in various parts of the world. On one of the final days of their time together, they went shopping and found an amazing pair of jeans that fits all of them perfectly despite their very different shapes and measurements (wouldn’t that be a treat if that perfect pair of jeans really existed?!). The girls decide to share the jeans over the summer calling them the Travelling Pants to reflect the journey the pants will be making over the hot months to join each of them. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
Inspired by the idea of an item travelling the world, we have decided to put our own Canvas Corp Brands spin on it… With that in mind our thoughts wandered even further… so… what if we made our art travel around the world?
Hmmm… There are plenty of travel journals where people document their travels and adventures; chef’s document the flavours and ideas gathered on their travels; students record their activities and places they have visited… There are also art journals where artists ‘jot down their thoughts’ in a form of an illustration or sketch or…any kind of artsy form.
Putting all the ideas together we had an Eureka moment – CANVAS CORP BRANDS TRAVELING ART JOURNAL !!!
The idea was born!

The technical side:
We have gathered 24 Crew members from all over the world and divided them into 2 groups of 12. The group members were arranged in order, in which the journals will be posted so that within 12 months, each journal goes to each of the ladies, gets a new entry and finally makes its way all the way back to its owner. That’s plenty of miles to travel in a year!
So, how does it work?
Each of the ladies prepared her own art journal (some already had one in their stash; some had to buy one; some decided to go the extra mile and make their own) and put the first entry in. Once all the paint is dry and the embellishments are glued on, the journal is carefully packaged and sent on its way to the next person in line. That way, every month, every lady has a different journal to put an entry in. Finally, after 12 months, each member will have a well-travelled journal with 12 beautiful one-off pieces of original art.
Will we be showing it off?
Well… Of course!!! We will be sharing with you all the art journal entries from both groups on the blog in two separate posts. What is more, you will also be able to find loads of sneak peeks and photos following the #ccbtravelingartjournal on social media.

Yeah, you might say, it all sounds great but what’s in it for me?
Soooo… here comes the ‘CCB Collective appreciation’ part – in addition to the 24 already in the game, we have two more journals travelling the world; we called each of them the ’13th journal’. Those two are travelling in a random order and will be making their way to the CCB HQ in Springdale, USA. Once they arrive safely at the CCB Studio, they will be up for grabs. Since they have the world to travel, the giveaway will not be taking place till late this year.
Finally, the most important piece of information… To be in a chance to be entered into the draw, all you have to do is sign up to follow our blog and leave us some love on AT LEAST 6 of the TRAVELING ART JOURNAL posts. Easy enough, right!

While you are waiting, make sure that you join our Collective and, most of all, have fun searching for #ccbtravelingartjournal or #ccbtravellingartjournal (we know it is spelled both ways – so they both count)
We hope that you will be us all the way and… we’ll see you soon on our first reveal!
